Obligatory procedures for foreign citizens: medical check-up and fingerprinting

According to the Federal Law 'On the Legal Status of Foreign Persons in the Russian Federation', international students arriving in Russia for a period of more than 90 days must undergo a medical examination, fingerprinting and official photographing.

How to submit your fingerprints and get photographed

  • 1. Obtain a notarized translation of your passport into Russian

    • the translation must be notarized by a Russian notary
    • it must include a clear high-resolution photocopy of your passport sewn together with a translation by a ribbon/thread
  • 2. Undergo a medical check-up in Policlinic #3

    Where: Moscow, metro Mayakovskaya, Ermolayevsky Pereulok, house 22/26, build. 1 Городская поликлиника № 3 (г. Москва, Ермолаевский переулок, д. 22/26, стр. 1)

    When: Monday-Friday, 8:00 – 15:30

    Important:

    Avoid taking antidepressants, drugs, sleeping pills and other similar substances before the visit. If you take any medicine, don’t forget to bring your prescription.

    Do not eat at least 2 hours before the visit (due to the blood test).

    Prepare documents
    • Passport
    • Photocopy of the first page of the passport
    • Notarised passport translation
    • Photocopy of a study visa or a Student ID (if you don’t have a study visa)
    • Migration card (original+copy)
    • Registration slip (original+copy)
    • 5 900 roubles (as of Feb 2023)
    Undergo the check-up
    • Go to the 1st floor, room 107
    • Submit your documents
    • Sign a contract and make the payment 
    • Take chest X-ray, blood, urine, skin tests
    Collect certificates

    The clinic staff will tell you the date when you can collect your medical certificates.

    Make sure you bring the payment receipt with you.

     Within 1 day,  email a scan/photo of the documents to SIMO at international.study@hse.ru

  • 3. Submit fingerprint in the migration centre

    Where: Moscow, metro Paveletskaya, Bakhrushina Street house 18 (г. Москва, ул. Бахрушина д.18)

    When: Monday-Friday, 9:00 – 18:0

    Prepare documents
    • Passport
    • Notarised passport translation
    • Student ID
    • Migration card
    • Registration slip
    • 1 100 roubles (as of Feb 2023)
    Go to the migration centre
    • Submit documents
    • Submit your fingerprints
    • Have your photo taken
    Collect the card

    The migration centre staff will tell you the date when you can collect your fingerprint card.

    Make sure you bring the payment receipt with you.

     Within 1 day,  email a scan/photo of the card to SIMO at international.study@hse.ru
