Course Choice
How to put together your study plan:
1. Check your home university's requirements for your study plan at HSE University.
- required minimum number of credits per semester
- required course level (Bachelor/Master courses)
- required fields of study
- required language of instruction
2. Check HSE University's requirements
- Mobility students put together their study plan by themselves from courses available at HSE University based on their home univeristy's requirements. No course is obigatory for mobility students.
- Most HSE courses are 3-6 credits. The usual workload is 20-30 credits per semester. Mobility students are expected to enrol in at least 15 credits per semester due to visa regulations.
- At HSE, you can take some courses that do not belong to your major at your home university. However, most of your courses should correspond to your major.
- Bachelor students normally enrol in Bachelor-level courses at HSE. Master level students are allowed to enroll in both Master and Bachelor-level courses.
3. Check study plans of HSE degree programmes similar to your major
1. The lists below are filtered to show only English-taught courses. If you are interested in Russian-taught courses, switch to the Russian version of this page.
2. Students of all majors are advised to check the course list of the English-taught BA programme 'International Relations and Global Studies'. Its interdisciplinary curricullum includes courses that cover topics from various fields of studies.

4. Russian as a Foreign Language Course
Exchange and visiting students can enroll in one Russian as a Foreign Language Course per semester (6 credits). This course is not obligatory. Any level is available. You can see the current schedule here. Course enrollment takes place before the start of a semester.
