China

Schwarzman Scholars

Requirements:

— at least 18 but not yet 29 years of age before applying;  
 undergraduate degree or first degree from an accredited college or university or its equivalent;   
— no requirements for a specific field of undergraduate study; all fields are welcome, but it will be important for applicants, regardless of undergraduate major, to articulate how participating in Schwarzman Scholars will help develop their leadership potential within their field;   
— acceptable English test options are TOEFL iBT -- 100, TOEFL PBT -- 600, IELTS -- 7.

Description of the grant:

full financial support to applicants for master's degree program at Tsinghua University, one of the country's leading universities, on the following majors: Public Policy, Economics & Business, International Studies

France

Germany

DAAD

Requirements  

— citizens of the country eligible to participate ;   
— at least 18 years old ;   
— enrolled as an undergraduate, postgraduate or PhD student at any university ;   
— good standing at a university ;   
— solid command of German/English .

Description of the grant:  

financial support to students who would like to
— attend German summer courses that can last 3-4 weeks and take place in different cities in Germany;
 

— join field trips lasting 1-2 weeks;  
— pursue studies in master’s programmes;    
— pursue studies in PhD programmes in German universities as well as other universities to conduct research related to Germany;  
— complete an internship in Germany.

BAYHOST

BAYHOST, the Bavarian Academic Center for Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe, provides grants to promote academic exchange between Bavaria and countries in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe including Russia.

Great Britain

Chevening

Requirements:  

— be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country and intend to return there for a minimum of two years after your Chevening Award has finished;   
— hold a degree that is equivalent to or higher than an upper-second class (2:1) honours degree in the UK before applying;   
— have completed at least two years' work experience (including voluntary work and paid or unpaid internships) before applying;    
— meet the Chevening English language requirement;
— good standing at a university;
— not hold British citizenship or dual British citizenship, unless you are a citizen of a British Overseas Territory or hold BN(O) and are applying from Hong Kong;
— not have previously studied in the UK under a UK government-funded scholarship.

Description of the grant:  

Chevening Scholarships are awarded to outstanding emerging leaders to pursue one-year Master’s degrees in any subject and at any UK university.

Netherlands

EP-Nuffic

Requirements:  

— citizens of the country eligible to participate ;  
— 18-35 years old ;  
— solid command of English ;  
— acceptance letter from a university in the Netherlands .

cover part/full tuition of students who want to study at Dutch universities.

Norway

High North Scholarship

Requirements:  

— to be registered at a higher education institution in Canada, Japan, Russia, South Korea or the US ;  
— your home institution should have an agreement of cooperation with the institution you wish to attend in Norway;
— high academic credentials ; 
— solid command of English

Description of the grant:

the scholarships are granted for one or two semesters, and recipients must stay for at least four months.

US

Fulbright

Requirements :

Program eligibility and selection procedures vary widely by country. Please use the drop-down menu at  Fulbright  to find information about the Fulbright Program in your home country, including eligibility requirements and application guidelines. 

Description of the grant:

— fellowships for graduating seniors, graduate students, young professionals and artists to study abroad for one academic year;
— grants cover all expenses of participants (tuition, transportation, accommodation, meal) .

GLOBAL UGRAD

Requirements :  

 citizens of the country eligible to participate  ;   
— at least 18 years old at the start of the UGRAD Programme in the United States  ;   
— enrolled as an undergraduate student at any university  ;   
— good standing at a university  ;   
— not in the final term at a university  ;   
 solid command of English.

Description of the grant :

— provides an opportunity for one semester of non-degree, full-time study at colleges and universities in the United States ;  
— grants cover all expenses of participants (tuition, transportation, accommodation, meal)

Year of Exchange in America for Russians (YEAR)

Requirements :  

 A citizen of the Russian Federation at the time of application and during the selection process ;   
— Born between July 20, 1997 and July 1, 2000;   
— Graduated secondary school as of August 2018;   
— Proficient in spoken and written English at the time of application;   
— Able to demonstrate outstanding academic ability;   
 Able to convincingly demonstrate existing and durable ties to Russia and a firm commitment to return to Russia after the completion of the program;
 Able to display the maturity required to succeed on a year-long international exchange program;
 Able to begin the program in the United States in July of 2018;
— Eligible to receive a U.S. J-1 Exchange Visitor non-immigrant category visa.
