Sports at HSE University
HSE University Sport Facilties are offered at most of the dormitories and also in the campus building on Bolshoy Trekhsvyatitelskiy per. 3.
In order to join any HSE University Sport club a student must present a medical certificate from a physician proving that the student’s health allows doing sports.

A number of sport clubs for faculty and students operate at HSE:
Football
The ESN football team plays in the HSE First League and welcomes both Russian and international players. New players are recruited in August-early September and in January. Email ESN HSE at hsemsk@esnrussia.org for the contact details of the captain.
Basketball
The HSE Basketball League teams recruit new players in September and January. Leave your short profile in the 'Поиск команды' ('Team search') tab in the League's VK group or get in touch with the VK group admins in the 'Contacts' section.
Chandra Yoga Club
Chandra Yoga community where everyone gets to know themselves better, listen to the needs of their body and soul. It does not matter if you join the Club to improve health, develop flexibility, become calmer or learn how to relax, everyone is welcome.
Table Tennis
If you have classes at the Pokrovsky Boulevard campus, you can spend your breaks at the Culture Centre playing table tennis in room Z003 (building Z, basement floor) from 12 pm to 7 pm Mon-Fri. All equipment is provided.
Chess
The HSE University Chess Club welcomes professionals, amateurs, beginners and everyone else who loves this ancient game . Members of the club participate in tournaments (blitz, classic), workshops with well-known players, simultaneous chess displays and can take classes for beginners. Aikido
At the Sengenkan Aikido Club you will learn basic movements and techniques of Aikido, a Japanese martial art developed and used mainly for self-defense, where balance and flexibility of your body are much more important than physical strength. Sengenkan Aikido does not involve meditation classes, and does not teach on the philosophical and religious aspects of Budo. The language of the club is English as the trainer, Kevin Cancellaro, is an English teacher in a joint Bachelor’s programme at HSE University and NES. Hiking
The MIEM Club for Athletic Tourism organizes camping trips that include hiking, climbing, rafting, skiing; competitions; hiking weekends; and classes in the school of athletic tourism. Please contact the club at info@tkmiem.ru for more information.
Yachting
The HSE University Yacht Club offers training for sports qualifications of a yachtsman-racer, retraining and advanced training courses. All certificates are international and offer the opportunity to travel by water on your own throughout the world! Please send your inquiries to yachting2011@gmail.com.
Workout
HSE Street Workout club regularly runs open training sessions in Moscow parks for those who want to get a six pack training in fresh air.
HSE University students and staff take part in regular sports competitions and festivals, such as the Moscow Student Games, Spartakiada Festival, and HSE football games.
