On July 10, 2015, students of the master’s programme in Finance majoring in Audit and Consulting successfully defended their master’s theses at Tuscia University in Viterbo, Italy.

HSE Nizhny Novgorod Management faculty students Anastasia Shikina and Alesya Zaporozhchuk have returned after a year in Austria’s Johannes Kepler University. They share their impressions of studying at our partner university.

Continuing the series of Italian meetings, started in early 2015 (involving meeting with University of Turin and public lecture by Professor Piergiorgio Odifreddi on Mathematics and the Arts, visit by representatives from LUISS, University of Genoa etc.), this time, on 24 June 2015 HSE Office for International Cooperation hosted the delegation from Ca’Foscari University of Venice, represented by Daniela Rizzi, our partnership coordinator and Tenured Professor, Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies, Giancarlo Coro', Associate Professor, Department of Economics, Mario Volpe, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, and Lucy Kuzminova, Coordinator of Internships and Career Service.

‘The University of Passau is the youngest HEI in Bavaria but has earnt itself a good reputation since it opened in 1978,’ says Svetlana Maltseva, Academic Supervisor of the Master’s programme in Big Data Systems. ‘For more than ten years the university has occupied a leading position in German and European rankings in Law, Management and International Relations.’

Artem Neklyudov, ICEF BSc Graduate 2007, last year completed his PhD in finance at Carnegie Mellon university. In this interview he talks about what influenced his decision to become an academic, how to find work after graduating, and why research involves teamwork.

HSE Laboratory for Comparative Social Research sign partnership agreement with the Social and Economic Survey Research Institute

The students’ exchange programme between ICEF HSE and Istanbul Bilgi University starts in September 2015. In the first semester of the next academic year several ICEF students will go to study at Bilgi University and Bilgi University students will spend a term at ICEF. The universities will also develop plans for cooperation between ICEF and Bilgi academics.

London Connection, online magazine of the University of London International programmes published an interview with Vassiliy Kosov, ICEF BSc Economics and Finance graduate of 2014, and spoke to him about studying for two degrees concurrently, winning a scholarship to LSE, and the economic outlook for Russia.

First-year student at the Postgraduate School in Philology Anastasia Preobrazhenskaya is starting a two-month fellowship at the Artes Liberales department of the University of Warsaw. She has spoken to HSE News Service about her experience studying at HSE and future academic plans.
