Description: The UFMG Summer School on Brazilian Studies (SSBS) is a comprehensive course that offers students from all over the world an understanding of key aspects of Brazil from distinct perspectives. Over two weeks of intense learning, sessions will cover the underpinnings of Brazilian politics, history, foreign relations, geology, law, economy, arts, culture and race.

The BRICS Legal Studies School 2026 is a week-long intensive academic program hosted by the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil, in collaboration with partner institutions, including Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK) and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, from China; HSE University, Russian Presidential Academy (RANEPA), Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU), Russian State University for the Humanities and Kutafin Moscow State Law University, from Russia; North-West University, University of Johannesburg and University of Cape Town, from South Africa; National Law University, Jodphur, from India. Other partners to be announced. The program offers an in-depth exploration of the legal systems of the original BRICS countries—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—while fostering critical dialogue on global challenges and international cooperation among BRICS+ countries.
Targeted at final-year undergraduate and graduate students from BRICS+ countries, the BRICS Legal Studies School 2026 will operate under India’s 2026 BRICS Presidency theme: “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”. Aligned with the bloc’s priorities—such as artificial intelligence (AI), climate change, and security—this School equips participants to examine legal traditions, institutional governance, and transnational challenges across the BRICS+ and beyond.
2. Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro
9th edition of the Brazilian Seminars Summer program, with a good early bid discount until April 30.

The Brazilian Seminars developed by PUC-Rio is an interdisciplinary program meant to give a broad perspective of Brazilian issues which are currently in the global scenario.
It is aimed at students, scholars, professionals and everyone else who is interested in the opportunity to deepen their knowledge about Brazil.
The technical visits are offered to promote the encounter of the academic theory with the real life of companies and entrepreneurs located in Rio. Participants have the chance to interact with people in management positions providing significant insights about doing business in Brazil.
Portuguese language instruction, cultural and social activities will complement the Brazilian experience
Program structure:
The program's structure will be the same is the previous years: 52 class-hours offered through 18 lectures on different topics + 8h dedicated to technical visits + a great range of cultural and social activities. It is also possible to combine the program with 20h or 40h of Portuguese language - offered before and after the Brazilian seminars program itself.

The ISP 2026 will be held from June 29 to July 31. The cost is USD 1,200 (one thousand two hundred U.S Dollars) and includes four courses, and extracurricular cultural activities on Fridays.

To receive the scholarship, students need an official letter from the international office supporting their participation in the ISP (it must be clear that the university chooses the student to receive the scholarship).
